How to Measure PD (Pupillary Distance)

Your PD (pupillary distance) is the distance in millimeters between your pupils. It's essential for centering your lenses correctly.

Measuring Your PD

Your optometrist usually includes PD on your prescription. If not, you can measure it at home with a ruler and a mirror.

Mirror Method

  1. Stand in front of a mirror with a millimeter ruler.
  2. Close your right eye and align the 0mm mark with the center of your left pupil.
  3. Close your left eye and read the measurement at the center of your right pupil.
  4. Repeat 2-3 times for accuracy. Typical PD is 54-74mm for adults.

For best results, have your optometrist measure your PD. Self-measurement is an estimate.
